"Green" machines

The nature here in South Carolina is amazing. We have really become more one with nature since our move. We have slowly started to make some changes to a "greener" life. We recently started purchasing organic products through a group at John's work. We are really happy with the products and they are actually cheap!



Our most recent adventures have us working on lessening the chemicals in our home. We started with the cleaning products for counters and such. We basically use baking soda and vinegar for everything!

Surface Cleaning - Vinegar and water in a spray bottle
Drains - Baking soda down drain followed by a vinegar wash
Tough Sticky stains - baking soda mixed with a little water to make a paste
Carpet - Baking soda
Dish Soap - We are using Seventh Generation soaps

That's about it. I really haven't used all those products I use to use and my house is just as clean.

Blog Beginnings

Okay...we are attempting to blog to see how it goes. We have a myspace and a facebook, but they both have become too much to keep up with. We just want a place to put down our thoughts and stay connected to friends and family. We have so much going on in our lives and we feel we are not getting the chance to share it all. This will be our way of keeping you all in the loop.

We also hope for it to become a tool for others. We will be sharing our move to a more "greener" life. We hope that our trials and tribulations will help others to find there own path to leaving a smaller footprint on the earth.

So, stay tuned and maybe you might want to start a blog too?? There are some really cute blogging sites, but they cost money. In this time in our lives, we like the free things. This is a google blog sight and we will see how it goes.
